Individual & Relationship Counselling

Be kind to yourself as you proceed along this journey. This kindness, in itself, is a means of awakening the spark of love within you and helping others to discover that spark within themselves

Individual and relationship counselling (Face-to-face or On-line)

I believe that wellness and wellbeing are a right for all. I am passionate about supporting people in their healing through the self-transformative practices of evidence-based psychological therapies and trauma-informed somatic modalities. I have a deep interest in supporting people in building an intimate relationship between their physical body and their psychological wellbeing to help facilitate positive behaviour change.

Dedicated to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to meet your needs and counselling goals including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), emotion-focused, mindfulness, attachment-based and somatic-based therapies.

However, what is most important in your therapeutic experience is our therapeutic relationship. Why? The therapeutic relationship is unique in that for many people, it may be one of the first times they have formed a connection with another person, where their feelings, thoughts or ideas have been allowed to be heard, acknowledged and valued. My approach to counselling is person-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed, supporting the client emotionally, cognitively, and physically so that with time, the client has choices, skills, and strategies to become empowered in their own healing process.

I’m privileged by the opportunity to hold space for you to explore your concerns so that you may move towards a more meaningful, conscious and engaged life. My areas of specialty include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress management

  • Life Direction and existential angst

  • Relationship counselling including communication & conflict resolution

  • Sexual issues

  • Grief and Loss

  • End-of-life/death anxiety

  • Complex trauma

“My counselor Coby very much helped me through a life-changing and heart-breaking situation. I felt so much better after speaking with her, a weight had been lifted off of me and I felt that someone heard what I was saying. She gave me some great information and activities I could try. Including mindfulness however in a different way than I had tried before, this was very helpful and I will continue to use this in the future. I want to thank her so very much for all her support, it made the world of difference to me.”

“I am deeply thankful for the experience with my councilor, I felt a fuse was diminished in me that could have been detrimental to my mental health. In the crisis scenario of how I felt at the time, she was actively engaged with me and I experienced a person with integrity.”

“The support and advice I received from my Counseling sessions was invaluable. I was dealing with an incredibly stressful, toxic, bullying and sexist environment in XXXXXXX and at one very low point things were so bad I seriously considered ending my life. If it wasn’t for the support I received from Coby I’m not sure I would have been able to get through that situation. With her support, advice and tools I’m now in a much better headspace and I have much better coping strategies and boundaries to stop this from happening to me again. I’d highly recommend counseling to anyone who is struggling with their mental health or in similar situation to the one I was in.”

“Coby was my anchor whilst i lost my job after 13 years and had a break down because i could not have the flu vaccination. I am eternally grateful that she was on the other end of the phone whilst i went through this process, she was professional, compassionate and helped me to look within myself to cope. Thank you.”
